CAST To Provide 1,000 Popular Science Reading Rooms In 5 Years
To spread popular science and enhance information dispensing standards, China抯 institutions including the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) will build 1,000 "ASUS Popular Science Reading Rooms" in urban and rural areas across China from 2008 to 2012. Reading rooms will be provided with 3,000 popular science books and equipment including computers and printers. In 2008, the first 100 reading rooms were built throughout 100 counties in China, 2008. In 2009, another 200 reading rooms is planned in 26 provinces and autonomous regions including Heilongjiang, Shaanxi and Yunnan.
