In a new move to tighten control on internet use, China's technology ministry says it has lifted a ban on individuals operating websites but imposed more stringent registration requirements, reported AP.The announcement came as Beijing is in talks with Google about whether the US-based search engine will be allowed to continue operating in China after it said it would no longer cooperate in web censorship. The state-sanctioned Chinese group that assigns domain names suspended registration of individuals on December 14 after government media accused it of failing to check whether their sites provided pornographic content.
